SYNLawn of Northeast Ohio Partners with Whole Foods Market to Create Play Areas that are Good for th

Updated: Apr 18, 2020

SYNLawn of Northeast Ohio is proud to announce that Whole Foods Market has decided to use us and our product to add play areas at their stores! Here are the several reasons why this partnership is meant to be:

When Whole Foods Market first started in 1980, it became an immediate success because it was one of only half a dozen natural food markets in the United States. However, what really set them apart was the values they held. Founded in Austin, Texas, John Mackey and Renee Lawson Hardy, owners of Safer Way Natural Foods, and Craig Weller and Mark Skiles, owners of Clarksville Natural Grocery, found that a natural foods industry was lacking when it came to supermarket formats. With this in mind, they worked together to create the very first Whole Foods Market which opened in 1980 with a staff of only 19 people.

From the very first moment, they knew what was important when it came to being successful: caring about their product, their customers, and the environment.

One of Whole Foods Market’s highest quality standards is carefully evaluating each and every product they sell. This means really analyzing where their products come from. Starting at the beginning of the process for their all-natural foods are the U.S. farmers. Whole Foods Market takes their farming practices very seriously when considering what food is being sold in their stores. They are always making sure their customers only get the best.

The Whole Foods Market team works with their farmers to make sure that their eggs, meat, and organic products are being made the right way both for you and for the environment. They also are very invested in their partnerships with those that work towards improving the lives of people in communities around the world. They are involved with Caring for Communities as well as Whole Planet Foundation, both organizations working to improve the lives and environment of those around them.

Mission Statement: “At Whole Foods Market, ‘healthy’ means a whole lot more. It goes beyond good for you, to also encompass the greater good.”

The values and missions of Whole Foods Market closely relate to those of SYNLawn. Although one deals with food and one deals with grass, both have very similar values when it comes to the helping the people they service. In fact, part of Whole Foods Market’s mission statement is “At Whole Foods Market, ‘healthy’ means a whole lot more. It goes beyond good for you, to also encompass the greater good.” Encompassing the greater good is something that SYNLawn also works for by thinking about how we can always be renewable, recyclable, and sustainable.

SYNLawn’s dedication to the environment is apparent because we are the first artificial grass provider to offer USDA certified biobased products. What this means is that we are dedicated to making products that are environmentally friendly. SYNLawn is always sure to use renewable resources and recycled materials. We do this in order to offer eco-friendly, synthetic landscaping products our customers can feel good about. Therefore, here at SYNLawn of Northeast Ohio, you can see we care greatly about the environment, but we also deeply care about our customers and making sure that they are receiving the best possible product. We have done extensive testing to find the most sustainable solution for your artificial grass. After working hard towards the most sustainable option that is also environmentally friendly, SYNLawn arrived at its EnviroLoc Biobased Backing System. This backing ‘locks’ blades into place for a long-life cycle and is completely plant-based. With this system, the play areas being constructed at Whole Foods Markets will not only last a long time, but will also benefit the environment.

Also, since SYNLawn knows the farming process is crucially important for Whole Foods Market, we hoped to point out that we work directly with U.S. Farmers! We do so in a variety of ways, but first and foremost by supporting farmers. We support U.S. farmers in order to foster a culture of sustainability similar to that of Whole Foods Market. SYNLawn also is sure to embrace the power of soybeans grown by their farmers. Soybeans work extensively in our environment from harvesting energy from the sun and capturing carbon and nitrogen front the air, to transforming it into valuable nutrients for the earth. SYNLawn uses these soybeans to produce their artificial grass, thereby helping both the environment and our farmers. Soybeans also help us utilize renewable resources. 70% of the petroleum based polyol is replaced with a bio-based polyol made from these soybean plants!

Overall, SYNLawn is a great choice for the environment and for the overall population. This is why we think we will work spectacularly with Whole Foods Market. We both support the same goal of improving our environment together. The exclusion of lawn maintenance reduces carbon emissions. The elimination of the need for sprinklers saves up to 50% reduction in residential water use. The lowered impact on local landfills due to the longer life cycle of all SYNLawn products as well as them being 100% recyclable makes SYNLawn the easy first choice.

Like you let your taste buds be the judge of your food, let your feet be the judge of your grass. Enjoy the soft grass in between your toes on these new play areas while also feeling good about everything that SYNLawn and Whole Foods Market have done and are still doing to help the environment. Similar to Whole Foods Market’s mission, SYNLawn’s is that each day we hope to leave the world a better place. Together, Whole Foods Market and SYNLawn’s truly ‘Green’ grass are both working on the green revolution, one carbon footprint at a time.
